Gynefix koper spiraal
Het GyneFix intra-uteriene anticonceptie-systeem bevat in tegenstelling tot conventionele spiraaltjes geen frame . Het bestaat uit een niet resorbeerbare monofilament chirurgische draad met een variërend aantal holle koperen hulzen op. De bovenste en onderste huls zijn vastgekrimpt op de chirurgische draad om ze op hun plaats te houden. De totale afgifte-oppervlakte van het koper is 200 mm 2 voor Gynefix 200 ( hysterometrie < 8cm )
GyneFix is een koperhoudend IUD. Dit type IUD breekt de zwangerschap niet af, maar voorkomt de bevruchting en innesteling door te interfereren met de mobiliteit van de zaadcellen. -
